Chicken Sauce Mix Recipe
1 1/3 tsp. Skimmed milk powder
3/4 c. flour
3 tablespoons. chicken boullion granules
1/2 tsp. ground sage
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. ground thyme
Note: When shopping for chicken boullion, be sure to check your labels. When making your own mix, one of the things you're trying to get away from is MSG which is added to the sauce packs.
If you look at the jars of chicken boullion, you will find that many of them also contain MSG. I was able to find a natural boullion that did not contain MSG and it did not cost much more. It is the chicken boullion that I use. It is MSG and GMO free.
Mix all the ingredients together, then store in a quarter-size jar or other airtight container.
To make the sauce, melt 2 tablespoons. butter or margarine in a small saucepan. Add 1/2 tsp. mix with 1 cup of milk or water. If you mix it very well with a whisk, you will not have lumps in your sauce.
