How to Make Mummy Cupcakes

Roll out some fondant on a flat surface with a rolling pin until it is about 1/8″ to 1/4″ in thickness. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut several strips of fondant that are about 1/2″ in width, although you can feel free to cut the strips as wide as you want, and even as jagged as you want! Remember, they don’t have to be perfectly even, after all, these cupcakes are supposed to be mummies! Don’t forget to keep your fondant covered with a plastic bag or something to make sure it doesn’t dry out when it is not in use.

Once the strips have been cut, begin to lay them out across the top of a cupcake. Make sure a couple of them overlap with each other, and that a couple aren’t going across completely straight. Try to cover as much of the frosting as possible, but leave a small opening towards the upper side for the “eyes”. Once you are satisfied with the fondant bandages, carefully trim the excess off the cupcake with scissors. Place two M&M’s where you left the small opening to give the mummy eyes, and there you have it, a   mummy cupcake!
