This Jello cottage cheese salad is a favorite family recipe. We have it at most family reunions, especially during the summer, but really at almost any time of the year. It's really easy to do and you can tweak some of the ingredients to change the flavor if you want.

Jello Cottage Cheese Salad Recipe
15 oz can crushed pineapple
3 oz cherry or strawberry Jello box
16 ounces. carton of cottage cheese
8 oz Cool Whip container
Drain the pineapple. Remove as much liquid as possible from the pineapple, otherwise the salad will end up being too runny. No one likes the flowing Jello salad!
Place cottage cheese in a large bowl. Add the powdered Jello to the cottage cheese. Let it sit for a few minutes.
Stir in the drained pineapple.
Gently fold in the Cool Whip.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
What's great about this recipe is all the variations you can make. For example, you can use lime-flavored Jello with pineapple, or you can use orange Jello and tangerine oranges instead of pineapple. Some people like to mix a few cups of miniature marshmallows into the salad.
