Shrimp tempura batter recipe

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups ice cold water
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • Shrimp, peeled, cleaned, patted dry

How to make shrimp tempura batter

  • Combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.
  • Add salt, egg and water.
  • Stir until flour is moistened.
  • Batter should be slightly lumpy.
  • Dip shrimp in batter.
  • Deep fry.
