Have you ever noticed that when you think of appetizer recipes, a word always comes to you like magic? This word, of course, is BACON!
Bacon is definitely the star of my amazing hot cheese bacon dip, but make sure you choose the right bacon.

How to make a hot bacon dip
I also recently added diced peppers to this dish because I think it brings a nice color.
Also, don't skip the 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in this bacon and hot cheese dip recipe! It's just enough cayenne pepper to add a touch of flavor, but it certainly doesn't dominate the dish.
In fact, I'm normally pretty sweet on anything spicy, because my family doesn't like overly spicy dishes, and no one has ever noticed that this dip was too hot for their taste buds.
When it comes to soaking, the sky is the limit.
You can use crunchy fresh vegetables, crackers, potato chips or even slices of bread for dipping. bacon and hot cheddar dip.

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cups sour cream
10 slices of smoked bacon Sugardale Hickory, fried and crumbled
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions, chopped
4 oz. peppers, drained, rinsed and diced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Reserve 1/8 cup of cheese and 1/8 cup of crumbled bacon to add to the top of the dish before cooking.
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the reserved bacon and cheese.
- Add the mixture to a 1 1/2 pint baking dish and garnish with the rest of the cheese and bacon.
- Heat uncovered in an oven at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until hot.
- Serve hot with fresh vegetables, crackers or potato chips!
