What are the causes of hyperpilosity or excessive hair?
Having hair is a perfectly normal and natural phenomenon. But when this hair becomes excessive (hypertrichosis) or that the hair becomes thicker and thicker and appear in unusual areas such as the torso, buttocks, inner thighs … (hirsutism), this can be problematic, impacting l appearance and self-confidence of the woman who suffers. According to a recent study, 80% to 90% of women with hyperpilosity in the face feel a great discomfort and suffer from social malaise.
To get rid of this problem, it is important to determine the causes. Indeed, an overproduction of hair can be due to several factors:
- Overproduction of androgenic hormones (male hormones such as testosterone).
- An increase in the sensitivity of the skin to the normal rate of androgenic hormones.
- Taking certain medications such as corticosteroids or cyclosporins.
- Tumors of the ovaries or adrenal glands.
- Genetic predisposition.
- Polycystic ovaries responsible for the excess of male hormones.
To stop excessive hair growth, it is advisable to consult a doctor, to determine the exact cause and to receive appropriate treatment, especially in case of tumor or hormonal disorder.
To help you get rid of them, here are some recipes for masks and natural exfoliators that will avoid you to resort to painful and sometimes inefficient hair removal techniques.
Natural tips to get rid of facial hair
1 – The infusion of organic spearmint
A study conducted by Turkish scientific researchers, whose results were published in the journal Phytotherapy Research, showed that mint was an effective remedy against hyperpilosity.
Men from the Turkish village of Isparta, who regularly ate spearmint infusions, have seen their libido decrease considerably, due to the decline of their androgenic hormones. Thus, 21 women volunteered to try the effect of mint on their hair. Result: a significant decrease in male hormones, including testosterone responsible for excessive hair.
Indeed, mint influences the metabolism of hormones and plays an important role in lowering androgen levels. Just drink an infusion of mint 3 times a day, 5 days a week. Prepare it by pouring boiling water over several organic spearmint leaves, and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes.

Let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes, and before your mask dries completely, exfoliate in the opposite direction of the hair growth to eliminate them. Rinse with clear water, then apply a toner and moisturizing cream or oil. This mask will help you cleanse your skin thoroughly, remove dirt and hair, and moisturize and nourish it.
